Saudia has launched a combined air-and-rail booking service in partnership with Saudi Arabian Railways (SAR), available through 29 August 2026. The arrangement allows passengers to book a domestic Saudia flight and an SAR train journey in a single transaction, with one booking reference and coordinated scheduling between the two legs.
What the combined booking covers
Under the partnership, travellers can select a Saudia domestic flight alongside an SAR train connection — for example, flying into Riyadh or Jeddah and continuing by train to another city on the SAR network. The integrated booking is processed through Saudia’s booking channels, eliminating the need to coordinate two separate reservations with different departure times.
The offer covers the SAR Haramain High Speed Railway, which connects Mecca, Madinah, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Jeddah city station, and King Abdullah Economic City. It also covers the North-South Railway and Land Bridge routes depending on the selected itinerary.
Note that Mecca and Madinah are accessible to Muslim passengers only. Non-Muslim travellers booking train journeys on the Haramain network should select routes that exclude the Mecca and Madinah stations.
Why this matters for trip planning
Saudi Arabia’s domestic transport infrastructure has expanded significantly in recent years, but coordinating air and rail legs has historically required separate bookings and careful attention to connection times. The new integrated product removes that friction for the booking window.
For travellers covering multiple cities — Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla, Taif — a combination of air and rail can reduce travel time compared to road transfers, particularly between Jeddah and Mecca or along the north-south corridor.
The booking offer runs until 29 August 2026. There is currently no confirmation from Saudia that the integrated product will be extended beyond that date, so travellers who want to use it should book before the window closes.

The combined ticket can be accessed through:
- Saudia’s official website and mobile app
- Saudia call centre and sales offices
- Selected travel agents with access to Saudia’s distribution system
When booking, passengers select their preferred flight and then choose from the available SAR departures that connect with their flight arrival time. Baggage allowances apply per the Saudia fare conditions purchased; rail passengers are subject to SAR’s own cabin allowance rules for the train leg.
Check-in requirements for the train are separate from the flight — passengers should allow adequate time at the rail station rather than assuming a combined check-in process applies.
Getting between Saudi cities on your trip
Rail travel is not the only option for moving between Saudi destinations. Road transfers by private car or shared shuttle remain popular, and domestic flights cover routes that the SAR network does not yet serve.
