AMAALA, one of Saudi Arabia’s flagship Red Sea tourism megaprojects, is receiving its first guests in 2026 with two landmark hotel openings: Six Senses AMAALA and Four Seasons AMAALA. The resort is set on the northwestern Red Sea coast in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Natural Reserve, a protected marine environment known for its coral reefs and clear water.

The Properties Opening in 2026

Four Seasons AMAALA opened on 15 June 2026, and Six Senses AMAALA followed in July 2026. Both properties sit directly on the Red Sea and are oriented around the marine environment - diving, snorkelling, and marine conservation are central to the guest experience at both resorts.

Six Senses, known for its sustainability-focused approach to luxury, brings its wellness and spa programming to the Red Sea setting. The property includes overwater villas and direct access to the reef. Four Seasons, consistent with its global positioning, offers beach villa accommodation and private beach access.

AMAALA sits within the same general coastal zone as NEOM, though it is a separate project with a distinct focus on ultra-luxury hospitality and marine tourism rather than the technology city model.

The Red Sea Setting

The stretch of Red Sea coastline where AMAALA is located is considered among the most pristine in the region. The lack of coastal development until now has preserved the coral reef system, which is significantly healthier than comparable reefs in more developed parts of the Red Sea.

The marine reserve classification around AMAALA means that diving and snorkelling here are likely to offer sightings and water clarity that are increasingly rare elsewhere in the Red Sea. Activities beyond water sports include desert excursions into the surrounding reserve and stargazing programmes.

Access and Visa Considerations

AMAALA is accessible via the new AMAALA International Airport, which has been developed as part of the project. Saudi Arabia’s e-visa system allows tourists from most Western countries to apply online ahead of arrival.
