Where to Stay in Taif: Best Hotels from Budget to Luxury

Sandstone rock formations in a desert canyon, Saudi Arabia

Taif’s hotel market is driven by domestic demand — Saudis escaping the summer heat of Jeddah and Mecca, families attending the annual rose festival in March and April, and business travellers visiting the city year-round. The result is a solid range of accommodation at most price points, from international five-star brands to locally managed guesthouses.

Luxury Hotels in Taif (from SAR 450 per night)

InterContinental Taif

The best hotel in the city for facilities and service, with mountain-facing rooms that look across the Hejaz escarpment — a particularly good view in the early morning when the mountains are clear and the light is clean. The property has two restaurants, a health club, an outdoor pool, and the business centre expected from a five-star international brand.

Rates start from approximately SAR 500 per night as of 2026, with significant spikes during the March–April rose season and summer weekends when domestic demand peaks. The restaurant serves Saudi and international dishes; the outdoor terrace is pleasant in the evening when Taif’s cooler temperatures make al-fresco dining comfortable.

Le Méridien Taif

Positioned near Al Hada, 25 kilometres south of the city, the Le Méridien is the practical choice for visitors prioritising the cable car and the rose farm districts over city-centre access. The hotel sits at higher elevation than central Taif and has excellent escarpment views.

Rates from approximately SAR 450 per night. The Al Hada location means you are within a 10-minute drive of both the cable car and the Al-Ameer and Al-Zahrani rose farms. If the rose season (March–April) is your main reason for visiting, this is the most logical base.

Mid-Range Hotels in Taif (SAR 250–400 per night)

Swiss-Belhotel Taif

A newer property with modern interiors and well-reviewed service — one of the city’s stronger mid-range options. From approximately SAR 370 per night.

Millennium Hotel Taif

Central location, reliable four-star standards, and a restaurant with consistent reviews. From approximately SAR 340 per night.

Al Qasr Hotel Taif

A four-star property in central Taif, well-positioned for Shubra Palace, the old souk, and the honey market area. Rooms are comfortable and maintained to a reliable standard. Rates from approximately SAR 350 per night.

Ramada by Wyndham Taif

A three-to-four star international brand property consistently well-reviewed for cleanliness and value. Breakfast buffet included in many rate packages. Rates from approximately SAR 280 per night.

Coral Taif Hotel

Locally managed four-star with a good reputation for reliable Wi-Fi, efficient service, and practical amenities. Rates from approximately SAR 300 per night.

Al Hada and Al Shafa: Mountain and Resort Stays

Al Hada (25 km south of city) and Al Shafa (at approximately 2,200 m altitude, slightly further) offer a cooler, more resort-oriented alternative to central Taif.

Al Hada Mountain Resort is the primary resort property in the area — a sprawling complex of chalets and hotel rooms. Room rates from approximately SAR 800 per night; chalets from approximately SAR 1,100 per night. Thursday and Friday sell out two to three weeks ahead during rose season and summer weekends. The resort dining options are more limited than in the city centre — a car is needed for dinner options.

Al Hada cable car is accessed from near this area and requires no advance booking, though queues form on weekends.

Golden Sands Hotel Al Hada offers mountain views at approximately SAR 390 per night. A car is useful for dinner options in the evenings.

Al Shafa Tourist Village provides chalets for families and couples at approximately SAR 350 per night for a standard chalet — good for those who prefer the quieter, more authentic Shafa village atmosphere over the busier Al Hada area.

Mist Mountain Hotel Al Shafa is a newer property with cleaner finishes at approximately SAR 400 per night.

The InterContinental also arranges guided rose farm visits for guests during the March–April season — worth enquiring when booking.

Budget Accommodation in Taif (under SAR 200 per night)

Budget options in Taif are concentrated in the city centre and along the main commercial corridors.

Al Massa Hotel Taif: Clean rooms, central location, efficient check-in. Approximately SAR 150–180 per night. No pool or gym.

Al Rayyan Hotel Taif: Clean and basic, from approximately SAR 175–200 per night. A practical budget base for the city centre.

Taif Heritage Hotel: Budget-friendly, from approximately SAR 175–200 per night. English signage is limited — booking online in advance with email confirmation is recommended.

Golden Stay Hotel: Reliable budget pick with basic cooking facilities. Approximately SAR 120–170 per night.

Nofa Suites Taif: Apartment-style accommodation popular with families. From approximately SAR 180 per night. Extra space and kitchen access suit groups or stays of three or more nights.

Booking Tips for Taif

Rose season demand: The March–April rose harvest period is Taif’s busiest time of year. Hotels across all price points book up four to six weeks in advance, and rates at the top properties can increase by 50–80% above off-peak prices. Book well ahead if the rose farms are your primary reason for visiting.

Summer weekends: Taif is a popular summer escape for families from Jeddah and Mecca. Thursday and Friday nights from June through August see high occupancy across all categories.

Al Shafa vs city centre: Visitors focused on the rose farms and cable car should consider Al Shafa or Al Hada rather than central Taif. The drive to the farms from the city takes 30–40 minutes; staying closer saves time during the rose season when morning farm visits are most rewarding.

Altitude: At approximately 1,800 metres, some visitors feel slightly breathless on arrival. This passes quickly but is worth knowing if you have cardiovascular concerns.

Al Hada cable car queuing: The cable car requires no advance booking but can have long queues on weekends — arrive early or plan a weekday visit.

Private rentals: Villa and chalet rentals in the Taif area are available on Airbnb and local platforms — mountain-view properties from approximately SAR 350–700 per night. Popular with Saudi families who prefer outdoor space.

Getting to Taif

By road from Jeddah: 80 kilometres, approximately 1.5 hours on the mountain highway. From Mecca: 75 kilometres, approximately 1.5 hours. By air: Taif Regional Airport (TIF) serves domestic routes from Riyadh (approximately SAR 120–280 return) and seasonal international connections.
